Planet Neon Signs & Artwork in Appleton, WI

Tesla Coil TC4I was my second coil, made in 1999 from plans found on Gary Weavers site. I went through numerous pages and his seemed to be one of the better and more complete sites. This was the first coil we used in the Dead By Dawn Productions Haunted House (Agnes wasn't complete yet) It was put behind a hand built electric chair with a live monster in it jumping at the people. I must say it was one of the better rooms.

Specs.

• 
  Primary - 18 turns of 1/4" OD copper 15º angle
• Secondary - 4" PVC pipe 24"long wrapped with 21" of #24 magnet wire, approx. 970 turns.
• Cap - .005uf oil filled rolled poly in 4"pvc
• Spark Gap - Richard Quick type 3/4 Dia. x 2" copper tubes, 7 gaps spaced .025 between tubes.
• Transformer - 15KV 50ma neon (dead) using a 15KV 30ma neon for now.
• Toroid - Just some wire I bent in a circle, Seemed to work best for the effect I needed.
• Output Sparks - approx. 24" with the 50ma neon, approx. 10" or so with the 30ma neon
