Tesla Coil Jr. is the first coil I built in 1999. I didn't have any plans at the time, just a picture from a Haunted House convention. I made the primary and secondary coils then found the rest of the info on the net.
Specs.
- Primary -7 turns of 1/4" OD copper 30º angle,
- Secondary - 1 1/4 PVC pipe 24" long wrapped with 20" of #28 magnet wire, approx. 900 turns
- Cap - .005uf oil filled rolled poly in 4"pvc
- Spark Gap - .Richard Quick type 3/4 Dia. x 2" copper tubes, 7 gaps spaced .025 between tubes.
- Transformer - 15KV 30ma neon
- Toroid - Just some 1/2" copper I had around
- Output Sparks - 6-7" with the 30ma neon
